Adam Hart is an electroacoustic composer based in Manchester, England. He attended the University of Salford, gaining a Bachelor’s degree in Popular Music and Recording and a Master’s degree in Compositional Studies.
He has regularly contributed sound installations, soundscapes, and electroacoustic performances to a variety of programmes, including Salford Sonic Fusion Festival, Creative Hive Live, and the multinational Listening Cities project.
He has also been active in Manchester’s live music scene as a member of Death to the Strange (2007 – 2011) and Project Albin (2012 – 2013), and has produced and performed music as a DJ under the pseudonym Year of the Rat.
His music typically incorporates algorithmic processes and microtonal systems. He is interested in how nonmusical generative processes such as arbitrary data streams and mathematical principles can be used to create music.
He has locally received commissions for a number of film scores and sound installations.
