Gearing up towards our next series, Metanast is excited to present an artist who we have long wanted to host in our hometown. Performer, programmer, author, and researcher, Marinos Koutsomichalis is a tireless sonic adventurer whose diverse body of work reaches across technological and philosophical notions. His live coding & electronics performances are noted for their rich textures, thunderous sound levels, and an immediacy seldom found in such mediums. Having been programmed at events across the world, Metanast is deeply honoured to present Marinos’ Manchester debut.
Supporting the Greek-born artist, three of Manchester’s finest noise-makers will be returning between our midst to indulge us with a wide range of clamorous devices. Best known for constructing the world’s loudest barbecue grill, Diurnal Burdens will be bringing his maverick harsh-and-sturdy noise walls. Producer, promoter, performer, and all around exquisite geezer Sam Weaver is bound to delight our auditory systems with his lush and meticulously constructed analogue modular beast. Finally, our own sonic custodial Manoli Moriaty will attempt to tempt failure by exploring popular rhythms with unpopular sounds.
Further to the live performances, the brilliant Darren Brian Adcock will be setting up an interactive installation made up of his wonderful noise-sculptures and sound-reactive drawings.
